This year’s Coachella Weekend 1 is not over yet, but the festival has already been making headlines. Kanye West made a shocker appearance on Friday night. Saturday surprises included Kesha, coming to the stage during Zedd’s set to perform “True Colors”, Snoop Dogg joining Ice Cube at Coachella Stage right before the main act, and Senator Bernie Sanders announcing rapper Killer Mike’s project Run The Jewels earlier that day.
But, of course, the main attraction of the festival this year is classic Guns N’Roses line-up reunion (minus Izzy Stradlin and Steven Adler). This is the first time many GNR fans are seeing frontman Axl Rose and guitar virtuoso Slash playing together after two decades of silence.
To make things even more interesting, Axl Rose drops another bomb just a few hours before Guns N’Roses take the stage – the unconfirmed rumors about Rose joining AC/DC turn out to be true. Still, this was not all the news for the night.
After Guns N’Roses roared through the first few songs, Axl Rose took a second to acknowledge how big the crowd was. If some of those fans, by some reason, hadn’t heard the news by the time Angus Young joined GNR for ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’, it would be obvious then that Rose was showcasing his new gig. Despite some people being skeptic about this collaboration, Rose sounded like a great fit. Slash and Young showed some unbelievable guitar magic to the audience, making fans scream and jump with joy.
The iconic “Paradise City” concluded the night, making it one unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance. Let’s see what Coachella Weekend 2 is going to bring us.
